Expert : Cabinet Ottavi, 12 rue Rossini 75009 Paris, 0142468518, contact@expertise-ottavi.fr Commentary: A cotton merchant in Le Havre and art enthusiast, Olivier Senn founded the Cercle de l'Art Moderne in 1906 under the impetus of painters Braque, Dufy and Othon Friesz, with a predilection for the Impressionists (Sisley, Monet, Renoir, Guillaumin, Degas...). His collection, acquired mainly from Bernheim-Jeune, Druet and Durand-Ruel, also includes Neo-Impressionists (Cross), Nabis (Sérusier, Bonnard, Vuillard) and Fauves (Marquet, Matisse). In 2004, the Musée Malraux in Le Havre received a major donation from his granddaughter Hélène Senn-Foulds, including a still life by Sérusier dating from 1904 (inv. 2004.3.63).
